5 Websites:

1. Spiral Stair case:
 Link of web.: http://petapixel.com/2014/12/19/disorienting-beauty-spiral-staircases-old-abandoned-buildings/

I learned that this photographer named Christian would take these pics. in abandoned building in Germany w/ Canon 5D ll, 16-35 mm f/2.8 Lens and tripod ect.

Why'd you pick it? I picked this pic. b/c it has to do w/ the spiral staircase, but mainly b/c I've never noticed how weird an abandoned staircase looked like. It just looks creepy and just shows the different types of characteristics.

Rule? I think that the rules of the pic. would be balance...

Who took the picture? Christian Richter

2. The Oldest Things Alive:
Link of web.:http://www.rachelsussman.com/oltw/

I learned that the photographer Rachel Sussman has basically learned biology and is very interested about the objects. The photographer gets her inspirations from the old types of earth objets like the minerals ect.

Why'd you pick it? I picked this photo b/c the title of " The oldest Things Alive" seems interesting, and it was. Looking at thinks that you don't normally seen is very interesting.

Rule? Rules of third..

Who took the the picture? Rachel Sussman is the photographer.

3. Killer Time-lapse:
Link to web.:http://blog.ted.com/2014/10/07/how-to-create-a-killer-timelapse-with-joe-capra/

Describe what you saw? The video that i saw was about a time-lapse that looked to be in different cities. Some actually involved cities some involved Water and more nature creativity. I do think that the person did do a good job. You just have to be in the right spot on the right time.

4. Great portraits:
Link of web.: http://blog.phowd.com/2014/09/7-tips-shooting-great-portrait-photographs/

I learned in this informal page that, portraits and kind of different when it comes to other types of photography. For example it mentions fashion photography, and that models don't really have a right way. but it's just a tad bit different. in this case these are normal people being a "model ".

Why'd you pick it?  I picked this one b/c I think all types of photography is interesting, Portraits and self portraits have there own meaning in my opinion.

5. Style:
Link of web.: http://petapixel.com/2014/08/25/approaching-problem-style/

Why'd you pick it? I chose this  pic. b/c of the title, I personally have like an okay since if style, it;s nothing to serious. but its okay. and the title got to me b/c of wondering what to expect.

I learned that it takes a lot to actually have a good pic. rather its posing, or making sure your hair and everything else is one well. i will have to say. there is a pretty good art/ of photoshop happening when there modeling.

Top 100 Photos of all time.

"Oscars Selfie"

1. I picked this pic. b/c of how many good celebrity actors/ actresses there are. Everyone just looks like they're all having fun.

2. The selfie happened during the 2014 Oscars, hosted by Ellen Degeneres. Bradly Cooper held the Samsung product that was later advertised for the company.

3. Theres really not much additional information besides taking a random selfie during the award shows. W/ Ellen, Bradley, Angelina, Brad and many other celebrities.

4. The photographers, Bradley Cooper.

5. He's an actor.

"JFK Assassination, Frame 313"

1. I picked this pic. b/c of the title and who it was about. I kind of already knew what to expect. I've already seen the video of his assassination.

2. The tiny article that i read is about JFK. Its about where and what the president was doing at that exact moment. which was saying hi to everyone that was there w/ his wife. and all of a sudden he gets assassinated in front of his wife.

3. JFK got shot in downtown Dallas. by 1963 his presidential advisors were preparing for the next president. During the horrific shooting, one bullet his the resident and the other hit the governor.

4. anonymous photographer.

5.anonymous ( can't be found).

 " Milk drop Coronet"

1. I picked this image b/c its just so different, when it goes to an actual photo. It's just very interesting. kind of abstract. The colors, even though they seem very simple, just been able to capture and image like this is very cool.

2. Basically the drop of milk was taken by a camera, with a timer. By Harold Edgerton, This was kind of an experiment which later turned out to be a brilliant idea Harold ws wanting to change the photography life.

3. Harold was a professor of electrical engineering, in the Massachusetts institute of technology. in 1925 he received his bachelors degree in electrical engineering.

4.   5. Harold Edgerton born April 6, 1904. died January 4, 1990.who attended Massachusetts institute of technology.

 " 99 cent"

1. I chose this pic. b/c I liked how it captures most and almost all isles of the store. I like how all the different colors in the store also pop out of the pic.

2. To summarize the informational paragraph, this photo was taken by Andreas Gursky’s . They took this pic w/ customers in the store and kept them anonymous. and so did he. Since this was the only 99 cent store on Los Angels. Which was later sold for 2.3 million.

3.  4. Andreas Gursky’s born January 15, 1955. He is still alive and studied in Kunstakademie Dusseldorf.

 " First cellphone picture"

1. I chose this picture b/c of the title and how it was the first cell phone camera. It just seems very interesting, having to see how cell phone cameras have come in the past couple of years is crazy. Some phones have as good as a normal camera or better.

2. To summarize the little article, Philippe Kahn  was w/ his wife and new born child. When he just started messing w/ different devise. and once he took this pic. of his child everyone wants it. It was first welcomed in japan and later on the U.S.

3 none.  4. Philippe Kahn born march 16, 1952. studied ETH Zurich,  an has written a book.

Fashion Photography

1. The changes that were made to the model...
  • Make-up
  • Hair
  • Neck
  • Showders
  • Lips
  • Eyes (larger)
  • color tone
  • Nose
(opinion) They basically just made her a make over but in technology.

2. Body Evolution- Before & After: the changes...

  • skin tone
  • Hair
  • made her face more centered
  • Bigger eyes
  • bigger lips
  • skinier
  • longer legs
  • longer neck
  • smaller feet
The photographer just basically changed her whole body. (opinion) She looks a a barbie doll.

3. Crazy Photoshop Skills: the changes...

Her her body,
  • Legs
  • Thighs
  • Hips
  • Arms
  • Hands
  • breaths
  • Head shape
  • Added more hair
The Photographer changed this lady in a dramatic was. Literally her whole body from being a + size lady to what looks like a size 0. (opinion) Clearly its amazing and also crazy what technology can do.

4. Honestly NO. I don't think its ethically acceptable to change these people really dramatically. The reason for that is b/c these ladies look a certain way b/c they were born that way. I don't think they should change in any way, especially if there a type of celebrity b/c there a younger people/ children that look up to them. I think its better to look like a decent human being instead of a barbie doll.

5. I think when it come to changing the person whole body shape is a big problem, more like thats crossing the line.

6. I think that when it comes to changing a persons skin tone is okay or the brightness a little bit. But changing the persons body shape and changing there actual body parts like making there nose more centered and making there eyes bigger is too much.

7. Well the difference between the fashion photography and regular journalism photography is that i think fashion gets more criticized b/c of how they look. That types of photography has to do w/ more emotions. Now in journalism photography I think it has more a layer back audience. They still also get criticized but to an extent.

8. Well i do think everybody has used photography rather if they liked it or didn't. It just shows they different types of differences.

9. I think your showing us these types of videos b/c, first of all photoshop exist and it plays different parts in the real world. It shows dramatic experiences to actual people. It shows that thats the world we live in. Theres really nothing we can do.

10. I think the reason why they're not about guys is b/c even though guys get judged in certain ways ,the majority are girls. This question kind of take me back to my english class b/c my my classmates and i were reading a story called "girl", even though it had nothing to do w/ photoshop or photography at all it was taking mainly about "girls". And how society puts these ladies/ woman/ girls in a category and makes them think more about themselves, if there whatever there doing is absolutely wrong. And i believe that this how photoshop played a role b/c some females would ask themselves " how are they so pretty?".... well photoshop.  There probably nothing real and thats just sad. Now in conclusion I think that the world expects more out of the female sex instead of the male. so kind of thing thats kind of sexist in my opinion.

Blog #3- My Favorite Cover:
Boston, May, We Will Finish the Race
Photographed by Mitch Feinberg
"After the marathon bombings, we wanted to be the magazine the city deserved and needed at that moment. The marathon was just four days before our ship date, but we scratched our cover and main feature and threw ourselves into honoring the runners and victims as best we could. The cover image is made up completely of shoes that ran this year’s marathon, and we were proud to tell their stories. We were even more proud that the sale of our May cover posters raised over $120,000 for the One Fund."

The reason why i chose this pic. this photo shows a very strong message of what happened and shows and amazing art. The way It has most and probably all the runners that were part of the whole marathon bombing. It shows all the different color shows of each person . The way they shaped the shoes as a heart and, the lighting of the the whole photo is perfect and i think the way the photographer accomplishes that by, sorting them from colors.(warm, cool and like neutral). The way people are communicated is clearly by people who and maybe weren't part of the bombing but there way a marathon. In my opinion the photo shows the love and support just by reading the title & not even reading the description.

Blog #4- Magazine Part 2:

There are different types of cover types, for example theres image base, illustration base, typed base and concept base. Each of these have there own special attributes, rather its how the describe are shoot a certain thing. Image based covers are more common, they usually consist of a pic of one person thats basically looking right at the camera, but maybe sometimes they would be looking in a different angle but it's still one person. Illustration base covers have to do with covers that look or are drawings, the difference is also that usually they rely in a different type of company. Typed based covers are usually rare, the typing of those types of magazine covers have a way to express what the theme is in general. It could be bold, cursive, bright, goofy, it just depends. Now, concept base covers has to do with rather funny, shocking and also a strong message. The other different think is that concept base cover has to do with businesses, so basically they are pretty informal.

Portraits & Self-Portraits.

Tips of Portraits & Self-Portraits:
  1. Looking off camera, have your subject focus their attention on something unseen & outside the field of view of your camera.

  2. Get close to the object that your taking a picture of,  if you want it to be the center of attention.

Environmental Portraits:

One of the portraits that i pick for the environmental side looks
like the cranberry guy from the cranberry commercial, but
the reason why i picked this one is b/c in my opinion it shows what
the man does and what it looks like to me, and just being
outside.
Now this other pic, the reason why i chose it
is b/c as you can see the elderly person doing what he does. Thats the reason why i chose these 2 pic. for environmental, not only cause of google but b/c it give you a clear pic of what they're doing.

Photography Self-Portrait:

The reason why i chose this pic is b/c i like
how the papers or mail is everywhere.
This i kind of how i want my portrait
but less... i guess.. photoshopped?

Now the reason why I chose this pic is b/c in my opinion it shows
a lot  of character, idk just something about it. Its like a 2 sided
feeling.

Casual Portraits:

I chose this pic. for the portrait side b/c its pretty basic and "casual"
in my opinion. It shows the person just sitting w/ water and books.
Very simple that kind of describes the person a little bit.
The reason why i chose this other pc for
this category is b/c its simply
shows what looks like a mother and her
son having a good time, that is very
simple.

Ideas/ Plans:

I think I have a pretty good idea of what and how i want my portrait and self-portrait to be. For my self-portrait i kind of want to have me either sitting on the couch, my bed, or by a table w/ my books, txt books and homework. Being dressed up w/ my Walgreens uniform (my job) and my phone and laptops, kind of looking stressed out. The reason why i want all of these types of things included in my portrait is cause I do a good amt. of stuff at school and work
w/ different responsibilities and priorities to do. The reason why I
want to look stressed out is cause i sometimes get stressed like
everyone else especially when i don't finish what i have to do. I just want
to be able to do this self-portrait and let people know who
am and what i do a a kind of day to day basis.

Now for the normal portrait I'm hoping to see if i am able to catch either
one of my family members or a random person down town
just being themselves. Just being able to get a good purpose of what the person
is doing at that moment.

American Soldier.

   A. The most powerful image that I saw and thought was very powerful, was w/ the caption "A Hug Farewell" b/c it shows the emotion and seriousness in the image. How his 2 friends say that last good byes and his parents in the background.
   B. These images work together to create this whole story of him basically enrolling to be part of the whole U.S. military to the train to the 2 different parties he was in w/ his friends and family and just him and his friends. Also from more training and him returning home and proposing to his 1st girlfriend and the live of being in iraq, to more of his personal life and later proposing to his 2nd girlfriend.
    C. The way the captions enhance the photos is basically by titling each one of them and explaining whats going on at that moment for example when he was saying bye to his friends and family, and what he's feeling at that moment.
    D. The summary of Ian Fisher is pretty simple, just by reading the captions and looking at the pictures. By simple his starting at the recruit office and him getting prepared to be trained to going to the doctor and getting checked out and doing more training and finally getting his weapons and finally saying goodbye to his friends and family since he was getting sent to Iraq and proposing to his first wife then later divorcing and later remarrying.

  1. the amount of sentences vary to the story behind the story of the pic they go to 1 sentence up to 7 sentences.
  2. The first sentence of most of the pics, say whats exactly happening or Ian is doing in the pic.
  3. The second sentence is mainly talking of what they have learned or what they as in everyone is doing.
  4. The third sentence just give a type of inference.
  5. Yes.
  6. Yes. Some have 4.

Abandoned theme parks

1. I would go visit  The Land of Oz in North Carolina b/c everything in general looks creepy about this park. First of all the fact thats based on the Wizard of Oz and has the yellow brick road looks cool. In the photo it looked cool b/c oft the current weather at that moment.

2.

3. Some other unusual places I've seen on youtube & thought of to travel and take pics. of would be...
ABANDONED

  • school
  • hospital
  • insane asylum
  • ware house
  • factory
4.
Abandoned insane asylum

Funny captions.....

Edith, sticking the middle finger at
her family during a family dinner b/c her family
want to put her in a nursing home. She clearly
disagreed w/ them.
Agnes, riding her wheelchair w/ all the other cars on the road today on the Eastside of Austin. She rode her wheelchair to the pharmacy.

Betty, lighting up a cigarette w/ her birthday candles
in her home. She lit her cigarette knowing what she has
to loose,

Prompt Shoot #2

Purple.
Electric.

Cool.

Warm up.

1. Clearly that escalated pretty quickly. Having to see what was happening and what to expect of the mans wife having cancer. It's really upsetting especially when you see her through her process.

2. I think what her meant when he's said " these photographs don't define us, but they are us." ,  was that just b/c he took these pics. of his wife battling breast cancer and him doesn't mean thats who they were. but that he was by her side at any point and that they were both fighting. and they defined there everyday actives.

3. I don't think i would be abel to take pictures, like this man did w/ his wife. Or any other types of loved one, b/c i would rather be w/ them at that point of there life.

4. If i wrote to Angelo I would say... Hi, I am sorry for your loss but, the way you took pictures of your wife was just i guess inspiring. Showing what was happening at that current moment and that your were by her side, It looks like no matter what. Even though you were certain and brave of what was happening you showed what you guys did even what looks like before the cancer.

Africa

I read that Nick Brandt spent months at a dry lake taking pics. of different animals like elephants, baboons. and many more. I also learned the reason why he took pics of these animals is b/c he wants to show people that one day these types of animals will disappear, " this world is under terrible threat, all of it caused by us."
I picture that i chose shows 2 elephants, the one on the right probably
the mother and the one on the left the younger elephant. It shows
the older elephant laying down, she's probably weak b/c of the heat or tired
It's my favorite pic. b/c it looks very emotional, and it just looks like it has a story
behind it.

4. The rule of the pic. would be balance b/c the pic seems to be in the middle of everything. There really isn't anything to show.
5. He doesn't use a phone camera lens. He does want to make sure he gets both landscape and animal.
6. The reason he takes the pics. of thees animals and landscape is b/c they look very iconic, but at the same time theres something very emotional thats happens in the African landscapes that are affecting the animals that all live there, he says. So theres a story in them.
7. To make people understand that theres something happening and we the people are causing this and letting this happen.
8. " When people in Africa are poor and starving and there are no crops left to eat due to deforestation and global warming leading to ever-worsening drought, they cannot be blamed if they kill the last zebra walking through the bush for there family to eat".

Great Black & Wthite part 3

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them? Post the images with your writing.
One of the thing that caught my eye was the, what seems to be dead bides all stacked up on top of each other. The reason why i chose it is b/c of what I've read about this pic.
 USE THE 5 SENCES:
I see, dead bodies stacked on op of each other and people walking around them like if there nothing.

I smell nothing b/c it's a photo, but if i was actually there i would smell rotten and decaying. Kind of like a dead animal but worse.

I hear plane silence. 1 b/c its clearly a pic. but b/c everyone's clearly ignoring the dead bodies, b/c they're meant to be daed.

I taste completely nothing , but we're gonna guess it's probably a nasty taste. The reason for that is b/c where they are.

I feel sad. Personally b/c those people didn't deserve to die or be killed in an certain way. It just isn't right.

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them? Post the images with your writing.
The reason why i chose this picture is b/c of the way most people live before in the camps. Bourke- White took some pretty powerful pics. and some of them are inspiring to other. i chose these 2 pics. b/c of how strong they are.
USE THE 5 SENCES:
I see a group of men facing the camera w/ dirty clothes, and are really skinny. To the point you can see there bones. And tired.

I smell completely nothing. I don't even know what i should smell? Maybe a person who hasn't taken a shower.

I hear a cry for help in head. When i see photos like these, thats all i hear and nothing else.

I taste.... Again IDK what i would tastes in that type of situation. Maybe dirt

I feel

Mural assignment.

1. What theme, that we could take here and school and think of one for OFF campus too,  could we do a series of panels to place around school?  The types of themes that would make sense to me would be a relaxing theme & a mixture of busy. For example taking pics. that are off campus wouldn't be that hard, like taking pics of some public art or people ing are and stores.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open up to our regular camera for those who don't have cameras on there phones?  I think using our actual cameras would be better but if you don't have a camera them use your phone. Or the opposite.

3. Where would you like to put the mural on campus?   I would like to put in the office, or any other place where people will see it.
